Iceland – a place where the Earth was first born and is continually evolving. ‘Amazing’, ‘incredible’, ‘breathtaking’ – these are words you will hear whenever you talk to anyone who has been to Iceland. So pack your thermals and join Tom on a photographic exploration of this stunning landscape.
Experience the amazing light. Marvel at the incredible silence, broken only by the occasional groaning of the glacier and the barking of seals. Under Tom’s expert guidance, capture the beauty of some of Iceland’s natural wonders – the breathtaking Gullfoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls; the dramatic geysers in the Haukadalur Valley; the black volcanic beach at Vik; and the awe-inspiring Jokulsarlon Iceberg Lagoon.
If the conditions allow, we’ll make a point of photographing the Northern Lights - truly an experience of a lifetime. They tend to make an appearance when it is extremely cold, so wrap up warm...
February in Iceland provides a unique photographic experience. Sunrise is around 9am and sets at about 6pm so there is a full day of photography. The angle of the sun at this time of year is low in the sky which provides a great quality of light throughout the day.
We will have the once in a life time opportunity to go on a guided tour of an ice cave and photograph the sculpted blue ice from the inside of a glacier. All equipment (helmets, crampons, ice axe and harness will be provided) and an expert Icelandic guide at an additional cost. (£45-£62 depending on the size of the group)
Accommodation will be in carefully selected cabins or hotels. Everyone will have their own private room.
All workshops are limited to only 5 people to insure individual tuition so book early. No minimum number of bookings required to run this workshop so book in confidence that it will not be cancelled.
