Provence is a lush vision of beautiful French countryside.  Experience the colourful scenery and great light that has inspired artists, including Van Gogh and Cezanne, through the ages. Learn new techniques that will allow your photography to reflect the visual splendour as Tom introduces you to some of the best locations in the region.

The highlights of the trip will include plains of lavender fields, the magnificent limestone cliffs of the Gorges du Verdon and quaint villages set against the backdrop of the awe inspiring alps.

Gordes is officially one of ‘The Most Beautiful Villages in France’ and once you are here it is easy to see why. The narrow cobbled streets thread their way between the tall houses in the village which itself is built against the rock with the castle standing proud in the centre of the village.

The technicolor glory of Roussillon will take your breath away.  The buildings here are painted with the many shades of reds, yellows, oranges and pinks drawn from the palette of the old ochre quarry next to the village. Enjoy the stunning contrast of the blues and greens of the sky and pine trees set against the steep red cliff.

Avignon is the great city of the popes packed with UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the Palais des Papes and the Pont d’Avignon. We will take a step back in time in appreciating the glory of these ancient buildings.

For many the visual splendour of Provence is the epitome of France and this trip is the perfect opportunity to capture this on camera. Learn how to shoot it with renowned landscape photographer Tom Mackie.
