What You Will Learn
Develop awareness: the ability to spot an image is something every photographer has to a greater or lesser degree. However, there are lessons you can learn to help you develop and activate this ability.
The art of composition: there are rules; these are not hard and fast but before you break them it’s advisable to know what they are.
Understanding of light: quality of light is crucial to a great landscape. You will learn what type of light suits a particular subject, how light interacts with what you are shooting, and the effect of different types of light.
Metering: whether you use the in-camera meter or a hand-held spot meter, you will learn how to fine tune your metering.
Use of filters: the over-use of filters is a common mistake. However, when used correctly, a filter can make the difference between a great image and one for the bin. You will learn how to control extreme exposure ranges by using neutral density grads and how to enhance colours with polarising and warming filters.
