The Languedoc region of France, as it is formerly known, but now part of the new Occitanie region, is a vibrant and diverse landscape, filled with vineyards, aromatic rocky peaks and fairy-tale castles.  Its rivers and wild gorges cut through its green and cooler mountainous interior towards the sun drenched coast of the Mediterranean.

During this 7 night landscape photography workshop we will visit several stunning locations this region of France has to offer which will give plenty of scope to your landscape photography.

In May, before the influx of tourists descend and the landscape becomes too hot, it offers the perfect time to capture the vibrant colours of early summer and the possibility of photographing fields full of poppies that usually come into bloom around this time.

The areas we will visit boast many UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Carcassonne, famous for its medieval fortress perched on a rocky hilltop overlooking the River Aude. The setting and surrounding area is spectacular for photography and one not to be missed.

Also the magical Canal du Midi, which flows through the town meanders through some stunning countryside.  Its shaded banks are lined with regal plane trees and at this time of the year it will give you some great opportunities to photograph beautiful colours along its serene waterways.

Our landscape photography workshop locations will take us to the city of Toulouse, with its sunny climate and light reflecting pink stone buildings that cast stunning fiery colours as the evening sun sets. We will then capture the blue hour with the beautifully lit Pont Neuf Bridge reflecting in the River Garonne.

The Tarn department, one of the country's loveliest photography landscapes, is full of green hills dotted with vineyards and medieval villages.  Albi, its small bustling capital and home to the magnificent Cathédrale Sainte-Cécile, offers warm lighting conditions from its crimson red stonework.

The beautiful, fortified hill village of Cordes-sur-Ciel, northwest of Albi, perched on a hill above two valleys, will offer you some dreamy and captivating views over the rolling countryside.

With a maximum of 5 people, book this photography workshop early to avoid disappointment. This will give you quality time for individual tuition whatever your photographic level.
