With the success of this new workshop in January, we are offering it again for 2020.

The Algarve, Portugal's southernmost region, is renowned for its breath-taking golden cliffs and sandy beaches. The sweeping coastline is a photographer's delight. Its pristine beaches are framed by a landscape that has been sculpted over thousands of years from the limestone rocks and its cliffs, caves, natural sea arches and stacks offer many opportunities to create great compositions.

The light is fantastic and during the quieter winter months, it offers the chance to capture both the sunrise and sunset off the coast. The water clarity and colour is superb when the sunlight filters through the holes in the rock formations and reflects off the water.

Flying into Faro we will travel west to stay for 7 nights on a B&B basis at a luxurious spa hotel overlooking the coast.  You will have the benefit of daily access to the hotel's spa which includes a gym, pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, shower sensations and a relaxation room which offers a 25% discount on spa treatments for guests. Transport is included during the workshop.

Based at this location for the entire workshop we will have plenty of time to explore and photograph the stunning coastline in detail. You will be able to discover the charming and traditional white-washed fishing villages that are dotted along the coast and sample the fantastic food and wine that the region has to offer. Sunrise is at a respectable 7:47 and sets at 17:35 so we will be taking advantage of the gorgeous light at these times. Midday after lunch when the sun is high, you will have opportunities to relax before meeting for the afternoon light and sunset. There will be some locations where we will photograph the blue hour.

There are limited places on this workshop available. With a maximum of 6 people, this ensures quality time for individual tuition whatever your photographic level. There will be moderate hiking involved along the cliffs and rocks so a good level of fitness is recommended and sturdy footwear is essential.
